The Parks and Recreation Master Plan will identify unmet community needs, provide a strategy for the development and maintenance of current/future parks, examine methods to improve parks and maximize use, evaluate maintenance costs, improve access for all, and consider opportunities for collaboration with other public and private entities.
A parks and recreation master plan will be the County’s guiding document for parks and recreation planning for the next 10-15 years. The plan will:
Inventory all assets, programs, services, and operations.
Analyze the gaps in the system, service level deficiencies and needs.
Establish a vision, goals, and objectives.
Determine when and where to add future assets, programs, and services.
Create a list of implementation strategies.
Develop an innovative plan document and online resources.
Serve as a model for future county planning processes and plans.
